prakriti the energetic matrix of manifestation. the matrix of manifestation is the energetic web that manifests instantaneously and simultaneously as the primary movement (shakti) of consciousness (cit).
prakriti is consciousness manifest, consciousness is selfexpression, consciousness in movement. this is the expression, manifestation of the emerging principle of I AM or impersonal awareness of being (puruxa), which localises in conscious organisms as egoism (asmita)or I AM THAT.
I AM (puruxa) is the root of all manifestation, all existence, its seed(I) is without form, attribute or name. existence, creation, manifestation (prakriti) is the inherent expression of I AM as THAT and is the matrix of all that exists. in effect prakriti is the inherent emanation of consciousness in selfexpression.
prakriti
has four levels:
1. the seedprinciple or potentialmatrix, alinga
which results from polarisation of consciousnessenergy that generates at the
same time the fundamental Self principle known as puruxa, and contains the potentiality of
the gunas or energetic differentiation and interplay.
this coresponds to nirvicarasamapatti
the fourth aspect of sabijasamadhi.
2. the dynamicmatrix, linga which is the energetic
interplay of the three gunas or primary tendencies. this coresponds to nirvitarkasamapatti
the third aspect of sabijasamadhi.
3. the subtlematrix, avisesa where the gunas are
expressing in the dynamic of the subtle tendencies including the five elements,
this coresponds to vicarasamapatti
the second aspect of sabijasamadhi.
4. the phenomenalmatrix, visesa of manifest objects.
this coresponds to vitarkasamapatti
the first aspect of sabijasamadhi.
prakriti
as the expression of shakti stands in direct ontological
(identity) and epistemological (polarity) relation to puruxa
as the primary expression of shiva. prakriti
is the mirror within which puruxa takes shape. prakriti
is the dance that puruxa makes. puruxa
is the source of the dance. prakriti is the energybliss
of puruxa, puruxa
is the sentient principle of prakriti. the dance
is the dancer.
all is one. manifestation is the play of polarity. puruxa and prakriti manifest in perception or cognition as subject and object. seeing these opposite poles as being separate and in conflict is the root ignorance (avidya) underlying the delusion of dualism. experiencing them as one is the fruit of sadhana in the state of samadhi.
prakriti then is the'body of god', the contextual matrix within which manifestation from the most subtle to most coarse takes place: or the Great Mother (MahaMata). there is no thing of any kind that is not contained within its span, its web. what is not contained within it is not a thing, but is its source: consciousness.
